Making art expresses for me something I don't want to or couldn't with words. There's so much to tell, so many stories and information when I really think about it to bring a thought down to a simple object can say all that needs to be said. Or rather present an object that allows the viewer to have there own thoughts about an object and how it may influence rather than tell a story with art. Influenced by Rodin and a lot of other artists I love the figure with all it's human qualities. The gestures are about the human condition of the soul contained within the body. The trials each of us face. Of being tiped, leaning over from the emencity of life.
I use clay for it's immediate response and that I'm just playing with mud; for the most part where I put it is where it stays and continues to stay when transformed into stone with firing. And felt for it's texture, warmth, it's ability to accept deep colors and formability as a sculpting medium. Felt can be strong and opaque or light and translucent. And paint for it's color, rage and silence. It says I feel.
